The Gait Guys on Movement, Physiologic Overflow & Muscle Function.

Movement is largely isotonic, meaning that muscles maintain a steady state of contraction (“same tone”) throughout a physiological range of motion; in other words, our body mass does not change as we move through space. Exercise is specific as to the type of contraction (isometric, isotonic, isokinetic) and speed on contraction. Different rehabilitative exercises we prescribe can have different results based on the points or angles of application. This video discusses some of these points.
